Why PhD is not a credential but Dog Trainer is.
The absence of study and practice of punishment within all of academia - and why you shouldn't listen to them.
There is not a single course, instructor, text, certification, or credential in all of academia that would qualify someone to use punishment. (Which makes academic credentials worthless when someone speaks on this topic.) No one with an advanced degree speaks with authority about aversive control based on things they learned while earning their advanced degree. I offer this quote from Murray Sidman, Phd. from his book, Coercion and Its Fallout, 1980.
